Jimmy Owens inherits win at East Alabama Motor Speedway during National 100
Jimmy Owens made the trip out to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Halloween to kick off the three-day National 100 weekend on Friday.
Owens kicked off the event with a fifth-place outing in the $5,000-to-win opener before he found some good fortune on Saturday evening.
Jimmy crossed the finish line in second in the 35-lap feature event, but was awarded the victory after Mark Whitener was disqualified during technical inspection. The Koehler Motorsports team pocketed a $10,000 payday for the win.
In Sunday's $30,000-to-win finale, Jimmy started fourth in the 100-lapper and scored a podium finish in third behind Tyler Erb and Dennis Erb Jr.
Closer to the Koehler shop, Jordan and Evan competed in the World Short Track Championship at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (N.C.) on Saturday and Sunday after rain delayed the event back a few days.
Finishing fourth and third in their heat races, both Jordan and Evan raced in the 25-lap feature event on Sunday with Jordan finishing 28th and Evan 27th.
