Jimmy Owens cashes $15,000 in Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series victory at Senoia Raceway
For the holiday weekend, Jimmy Owens followed the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and joined a 30-car field at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway on Saturday afternoon for the one-day, $15,000-to-win Independence Shootout.
Setting quicktime in his qualifying group, Owens finished runner-up to Joseph Joiner in his heat race and earned the fifth-place starting spot in the A-Main. Jimmy grinded his way to the front and eventually took the lead on lap 42 and led the final nine circuits to take home his second series victory of the season. The Koehler Motorsports team took home a $15,000 payday.
Owens strengthened his grip on the points lead.
