Jimmy Owens storms 24th-to-3rd in House of Hook Showdown at Whynot Motorsports Park
Jimmy Owens trekked to Mississippi over the weekend, competing with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for night one of the House of Hook Showdown.
Missing the mark in his qualifying session, Owens played catch up through his heat race and last chance race which forced him to take a provisional for the 40-lap main event. Jimmy started 24th and went on a vicious charge to the front as he landed on the podium in third. He trailed Dalton Cook and Joseph Joiner in the $8,000-to-win show.
Saturday's $12,000-to-win finale at the track was called off due to rain.
The Koehler Motorsports team instead went to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) for the $10,053-to-win Spring Nationals event where he recorded a Top-10 finish in ninth.
