Owens charges to 11th-place finish in Knoxville Nationals with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Kicking off a busy stretch of competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Jimmy Owens and the Koehler Motorsports team rolled into Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway on Thursday afternoon for the first of two preliminary nights.
With 40 Late Models on hand for the Knoxville Nationals, Owens finished 21st in Thursday's prelim feature before a hard wreck on Friday ended their night early.
Starting 27th in Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale, Jimmy charged forward in the 75-lap main event to finish just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
Owens is currently ninth in the LOLMDS point standings.
