Owens records pair of Top-10 finishes in Firecracker 100 prelims at Lernerville
Making the long haul to The Keystone State, Jimmy Owens and the Koehler Motorsports team joined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Thursday afternoon at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) for the Firecracker 100.
With 53 Late Models checked in for night one, Owens earned a fourth-row starting spot in his prelim feature and drove to a Top-5 in finish.
For another split preliminary event on Friday, Jimmy started further back in the 25-lap feature but managed a Top-10 finish in ninth.
On Saturday, Owens ran runner-up in his heat race which placed him on the sixth-row for the 18th-running of the Firecracker 100. Fading quickly, Jimmy was an early retiree on lap 11.
Owens is currently ninth in the series point standings.
