Owens fifth in Farmer City 74 for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader
Jimmy Owens made the trip to the Land of Lincoln on Friday afternoon and joined 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Late Models at Famer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon.
Stopping the clock eighth-fastest in qualifying, Jimmy started and finished third in his heat race which placed him 16th for the $25,000-to-win main event. Using up all 74-laps in the feature, Owens charged forward 11 positions to land inside the Top-5 in fifth.
Not finding the same speed at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday, Owens finished sixth in his heat race which relegated him to a B-Main where he nabbed the final A-Main transfer spot. In the $30,000-to-win Spring Shootout, Jimmy was finished 24th.
Owens is currently eighth in the LOLMDS point standings.
