Rain cuts short Alabama Gang 100 at Talladega Short Track
Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series for the weekend, Jimmy Owens joined a 48-car field at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the Alabama Gang 100 on Friday afternoon.
Topping his qualifying group, Owens started his $4,000-to-win prelim from the pole and faded to finish fifth as a rain shower cut the race short.
Earning a spot in Saturday's $35,000-to-win main event from his heat race, Owens was rolling out for the feature when a rain shower engulfed the racetrack. The event was postponed to September 15th.
