Owens brings Koehler Motorsports seventh-place finish in Lil' Bill Corum Memorial at Tazewell
Staying in his home state of Tennessee for the weekend, Jimmy Owens traveled to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first night with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.
With 39 Late Models checked in, Owens qualified second-fastest in his group and dominated his heat race which slated him to start from the second-row. Just before rolling out to the starting grid, the Koehler Motorsports team discovered a mechanical issue which forced them to switch to the backup car. Owens started from the rear and recorded a 22nd-place finish.
Hoping for better luck at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday, Jimmy started the lengthy 75-lap main event from the fifth-starting position and brought home a Top-10 outing in seventh.
