Owens runner-up in Outlaw Invasion at Atomic Speedway
Heading North to join the Outlaws, Jimmy Owens unloaded his Koehler Motorsports No. 20 machine at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Outlaw Invasion with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.
Following the third-quickest lap in his group, Jimmy earned a spot in the feature after running second in his heat race. With a $10,000 payday on the line, Owens quickly moved into the runner-up position and pestered the race-long leader but was unable to capitalize and settled for a second-place outing. He trailed Mike Marlar while Nick Hoffman, Bobby Pierce, and Brent Larson completed the Top-5.
With another complete show on tap Saturday, Owens started the $15,000-to-win feature from the fourth row and was running inside the Top-10 when mechanical woes forced him pitside. He was scored 21st.
