Jimmy Owens fifth in opening night of Historic 100 at West Virginia Motor Speedway
Jimmy Owens continued his Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series title chase on Friday afternoon as he made the trip to West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, W. Va.) for the Historic 100.
Following the fourth-quickest lap in qualifying, Owens earned a second-row starting position with a runner-up finish in his heat, With $10,000 on the line, Jimmy wheeled his way to a Top-5 in fifth.
With the field elevated to 26 Late Models on Saturday, Jimmy ran into mechanical issues in his heat race before the remainder of the evening was rained out.
Jimmy currently sits 12th in LOLMDS point standings.
