Bailes competes with American All-Star Series at Beckley
Friday afternoon saw Ross Bailes make a surprise Crate Late Model start behind the wheel of the Koehler Motorsports-owned No. 114 with the American All-Star Series at Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) for the UBB Miners Memorial.
With qualifying and heat races set for Friday, Bailes qualified fifth-quickest in his group and went on to pick up the victory in his heat race.
After Saturday's finale was pushed to Sunday because of heavy rainfall, Bailes rolled off 10th from the grid in the $20,000-to-win main event. Ross ran inside the Top-10 for much of the 100-lap feature, but pulled in on lap 73 and was scored 17th in the final rundown.
