Ricky Thornton Jr
Sixth-place finish in Hagerstown's Conococheague 40
Ricky Thornton Jr. returned to action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this past weekend as the tour headed east, opening at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway on Friday for the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.
Thornton advanced to the feature with a heat race victory, but a broken driveshaft sidelined him on lap seven while running third.
After Saturday’s scheduled event at BAPS Motor Speedway was canceled due to weather, Thornton wrapped up the weekend Sunday with the Conococheague 40 at Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway. He backed up another heat race win with a sixth-place finish in the $10,000-to-win feature.
