Owens lands podium finish in Alabama Gang 100 at Talladega Short Track
Losing Friday's $12,000-to-win opener to Mother Nature, Jimmy Owens joined the newly branded World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the Alabama Gang 100.
With over 40 Late Models on hand, Owens put down the second-quickest lap in his qualifying group before taking the checkered flag in his heat race. Redrawing the outside pole for the $50,000-to-win main event, Jimmy landed on the podium in third after 100 laps. He trailed Bobby Pierce and Zack Mitchell while Jadon Frame and Mike Marlar completed the Top-5.
